Our Role
Veritas Health Evaluations performs independent, non-treatment medical-legal evaluations (such as VA Compensation & Pension exams, Independent Medical Evaluations, Disability Benefit Questionnaires, and record reviews) at the request of third parties, including VA contractors, insurance networks, attorneys, and government agencies. These evaluations generally do not establish a treatment relationship.
How We Use and Disclose Health Information
- For the requested evaluation: We use your health information to perform the evaluation and prepare reports for the party that requested it.
- To the requesting party: Our findings and report are released to the VA contractor, insurer, attorney, agency, or other entity that arranged the evaluation.
- As required by law: We may use or disclose information when required by law, court order, or a government authority.
Your Rights
Depending on applicable law and the nature of the evaluation, you may have the right to request access to or a copy of certain records, request corrections, and receive information about certain disclosures. Some evaluation records may be released only to the party that requested the evaluation.
Our Responsibilities
We are required to maintain the privacy of protected health information in our possession and to follow the terms of this Notice. We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect that information.
